Hello and welcome to another My Week on Wednesday where I take a few moments to share what I’ve been doing over the week. I share some of the blogs I’ve visited, and some of the things that I have learned.
I hope everyone had a very happy Mother’s Day!
This week the Boy wrote a guest post for me: Food Rules from a Fourth Grader. I think he did an amazing job, and I would love for you all to go check it out!
If you live where there are ticks, or anywhere there might be ticks, you need to know about Natural Tick & Lyme Disease Prevention. This is an excellent article just plain full of great information!
Do you have a rain barrel? It is on my homesteading list, and after you check out Why You Want a Rain Barrel from Gentleman Homestead Consulting, you will want one too! Happily he also provides do-it-yourself instructions on how to make one!
And, Let’s Talk About: Peppermint. I happen to have a ton of mint growing in my yard (like it’s taking over my yard!) and the Pixie’s Pocket has a great article that will tell you all the wonderful things it’s used for! Also Timber Creek Farm has a wonderful post about Herb Gardening. Not only will she tell you how to plant them (incidentally, she will tell you to plant the “spreading herbs” — like mint — in pots), she talks about preserving them and using them, too!
On to things that are Tasty & Delicious…
-
The Homestead Lady shares a post about Kefir Fermented Bread Dough. I am seriously intrigued!
-
Gluten-Free, Vegan, Raw Strawberry Cheesecake. This has to happen.
-
And Mom Prepares shares Mouthwatering Cherry Recipes. I absolutely love cherries and both my cherry trees finally blossomed! Together. At the same time. And there were bees buzzing around them. Is it too much to hope that I will actually get cherries this year?
Finally, approximately daily, I post quotes on my Facebook Page. The quote with the most likes, shares, and comments will become the Quote of the Week.
And soooo… your Quote of the Week:
Christina, that was a nice surprise! Thank you so much for mentioning my herb garden post. I really appreciate this. – Janet
You’re very welcome! I was a great article! 🙂
Thanks for sharing the Let’s Talk About Peppermint post! 🙂 <3!
You’re welcome! 🙂
Thanks for the mention, Christine! That’s a great round up of cool posts – need to go read now…
Thank you and you’re welcome! 😀
I might have to contact your son to see if he’d like to hire out to read, and then write up synopses on the ever-growing stack of books next to my bed…
My wife and I really enjoyed his take.
Thank you!:)
I’m glad you liked it! He worked really hard on that post. And you’re welcome to borrow him to do your book reviews… he loves to read, though I’m not sure he enjoyed the *writing* part so much… But going on and on at the dinner table telling us what he had learned, that he LOVED!
