From the Farm Blog Hop … Using the Signs to Predict the Weather

Happy Friday! And happy From the Farm Blog Hop Day! I can’t wait to see what you’ll be sharing with us this week! 🙂

This week I chose Using the Signs to Predict the Weather from The Rural Economist as my featured post.

Since the advent of the “weather app” I found that, more and more, I relied on technology to tell me what the weather is going to be. Instead of using my eyes and ears and nose to help me predict the weather–even 15 minutes into the future–I was reaching for my phone.

When I was growing up, I used to be pretty good a predicting the weather… but I had forgotten how. So I deleted my “weather app,” and I have been practicing using my senses to tell me what the weather is going to be. (And, yes, I have been rained on a couple of times since then; I’m learning!)

The Rural Economist has collected a bunch of signs to help us predict the weather — and not one of them is battery powered! Be sure to check them out! 🙂
