My Week on Wednesday… November 20

Welcome to My Week on Wednesday… where I take a few minutes to share some of the things I did, and learned throughout the week. And, especially, some of the blogs I visited and articles I read.

Thanks for joining me!

As some of you may know, my husband has been in Poland these past two weeks… Well, he’s home now, thank goodness! And he… we… well, mostly me, have been going through some 500 pictures of landscapes, churches, castles, and just plain fabulous and European things that are leaving me dripping in green, jealous goo.

(It was a business trip: No spouses allowed. Or at least not spouses with children to mind and households to run…)

Except for the style of buildings... he could have been home

Divine Hot Chocolate with Red Wine

In other great, fabulous, and exciting news…….. my Divine Hot Chocolate (with Red Wine) was the Featured Post by Black Fox Homestead on the Thankful HomeAcre Hop! 🙂

Speaking of hot chocolate… I think I have found a “real food” marshmallow recipe that doesn’t require a stand mixer (which I don’t have) and most of a morning to complete! I have to admit, I’m pretty excited about this because I do miss marshmallows!

I also found a recipe for Chocolate Banana Baked Oatmeal Muffins… you know, just in case you want to eat your chocolate, rather than drink it. Or have bananas that will turn to mush before you get a chance to eat them!

I am searching for real food ideas for Christmas/Holiday cookies this year. I found these Bittersweet Chocolate Macaroons, which sound delightful. Does anyone else have any to suggest?

Speaking of cookies… Making Our Life Sustainable‘s Acorn Flour Shortbread Cookies… she says, not so much… BUT she gave the acorn flour another go, and came up with Chocolate Chip Cookies. Honestly, these look so yummy and smell so yummy (really, I think I can smell them through the picture!) that I’m tempted to give making acorn flour a go just so I can make these cookies.

This week I wrote about coffee. Mmmmm coffee. My husband has a wonderful coffee recipe which I… ahem… finally learned how to make over these past two weeks. And I proudly share it with you! Unlike most coffee shop coffee, this coffee is full of good wholesome ingredients designed to make you more healthy, as opposed to less healthy.

And, finally, because it’s November and the sun has pretty much disappeared for the next two months, I am sharing the Top 5 Health Benefits of the Sun. Enjoy the sunshine if you can find it!

Have a wonderful week!
