Hello and welcome to another My Week on Wednesday where I take a few moments to share what I’ve been doing over the week. I share some of the blogs I’ve visited, and some of the things that I have learned.
I can’t quite believe it’s June already! Where is the year going? Around here Preserving Season is just beginning…
Dehydrating Rhubarb. I had never really considered this before, but it sounds easy, plus the Pantry Paratus has included a list of things to do with your dehydrated rhubarb… including this really divine-sounding sauce for pork chops.
Canning Strawberries. This is absolutely on my “to do” list this summer! Just think… strawberries on oatmeal, pancakes, on ice cream… my mouth is watering just thinking about these. And the Homesteading Hippy has a great tutorial!
Freezing Raspberries. I have never actually had extra raspberries… but I have great hope this year! And speaking of raspberries… doesn’t this Raspberry Ginger Iced Green Tea sound delicious? (Something tells me I won’t be freezing too many raspberries after all…)
Preserving Blackberries. Mom Prepares shares five ways to preserve blackberries… including “bachelor’s jam” which I had never heard of, but am definitely going to try this year. (Yeah, there’s alcohol involved in that. 😉 )
Prunes. Yes. The Homestead Lady says you can make your own!
And Tomato Canning Tips. I ran out of tomatoes this year… and it was Sad and Tragic. I am going to have to do a lot more this year!
I found a recipe for Homemade Magic Shell Ice Cream Topper, which I’m pretty excited about, especially since I’ve had a bit of an ice-cream making problem lately. This week’s post was Apple Rhubarb Sauce with Vanilla Ice Cream… and last week’s post was Cherry Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream. (I probably broke some Blogging Rule with that. This is me not caring… we’re talking about ice cream here!)
Plus I found a recipe for Kefir Ice Cream. And since my friend (the one with the chickens!) recently scored some kefir grains… I expect I’ll be whipping up a batch of that before too long. 😉
And, finally, the Quote of the Week. Approximately daily, I post quotes on my Facebook Page. The quote with the most likes, shares, and comments will become the Quote of the Week. And this week’s quote is:
Thank you for joining me for My Week on Wednesdays. Tell me, what did you do this week? I’d love to hear!
Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to come visit me on Facebook and follow me on Pintrest! And don’t forget to join me tomorrow for Thousand Words Thursday!

Love the quote 🙂
Thanks, Fayne! 😀
Thanks for the mention, lovely lady! What a great round up – loved the ice cream section! There should always be an ice cream section!
You’re very welcome!
And, yes, I agree. There should always be an ice cream section! 🙂
So many good tips! I am honored to be in your list, thank you! Keep up the good work.
