Hello and welcome to another My Week on Wednesday where I take a few moments to share what I’ve been doing over the week. I share some of the blogs I’ve visited, and some of the things that I have learned.
Wednesday escaped me… and as I’m typing this, I am realizing that Thursday is escaping me as well. Ah, well… sometimes these things happen; we’ve had a busy week!
We enjoyed the last bits of summer…
And went back to school.
Yes, my kids go to public school. And, yes, they wear uniforms — and I LOVE uniforms!
Also, we got a kitten. This is Isis… isn’t she adorable? But I think she deserves her very own post, don’t you?
And now, on to what I’ve read…
- Canning Salsa — I actually find canning salsa to be a bit annoying, but I LOVE to open a nice jar of it during the winter. Nachos, with homemade salsa, is one of our favorite quick meals — we usually eat it on the couch, while watching a movie — so I can a LOT of salsa. This post has a few great tips which have made my life easier! 🙂
-
Drying Tomatoes — The tomatoes that didn’t get turned into salsa? This is where they went! The kids can expect to find lots of dried tomatoes in their lunches this year!
-
Speaking of kids and school lunches… Gummy Zucchini Candy. This idea is just TOO awesome. I can’t wait to try it out!
-
And Homemade Granola. I’m thinking that my kids will be getting a lot of granola in their lunches, too — with all the wonderful fruit I’ve been dehydrating with my fabulous dehydrator (affiliate link), and homemade yogurt.
-
Check out this Garden-Fresh Recipe: Eggplant with Wild Salmon. It sounds amazing!
-
And, finally, a gluten-free chocolate cake recipe with pink frosting — Chickpea Chocolate Cake with Beet Cream Cheese Icing. Who doesn’t need chocolate cake?
Looks like you had a fun week!
We did! Thanks! 🙂
